For the people not knowing, tell me a little
about your history and how you got started DJing etc.
I was first turned on to DJing in the late 80s, Early 90s after hearing the likes of DJ's Aladin, Cash Money, DJ Miz, Joe Cooley, and all of those old school cats who were really making noise and innovating and taking shit to the next level back in the day. When I first heard the sounds they were making with the records, I was like "Damn, I want to do that too!". Around that same time, I ended hooking up with my boy DJ Y-Roc, and I bought my first pair of 1200s from him. I think I ended up trading him this little 25 caliber pistol and a couple hundred bucks in exchange for the tables. Ha ha..... So anyway, that's how that happenned.....and from that point on it's just been on and crackin'.
What is Just Plain Terror?
Well, the phrase "Just Plain Terror" is actually a lyric from an old song called "Gangster of Hip Hop" which was written by the old school East coast rap verteran named Just-Ice. If you don't know who Just-Ice is, he was an affilliate of KRS-One and Boogie Down Productions back in the day, and he was known for being on some real hardcore type rap shit. He had this gruff sort of grimey voice, and his delivery was very commanding. Everything he said had so much impact behind it. Anyway, he had this one line where he says...."To a sucka Emcee, I'm Just Plain Terror", and when I first heard him say that shit, I thought that it would be a dope name for a crew or a CD or an album or something. Plus the phrase just sounds sort of dark and eerie, and that's the kind of shit that I'm on, so that's why I chose to use it. So anyway, that's where the actual phrase "Just Plain Terror" came from. As far as the whole concept behind Just Plain Terror goes.... I think that over the years it has developed into something much more than just a cool catchy little phrase. I mean, as far as the core group of individuals that I'm associated with are concerned, for us, the whole meaning behind "Just Plain Terror" has almost developed itself into a small movement of sorts. You see, we have all dedicated huge portions of our lives to HipHop in one form or another, and we all share very similar beliefs in regard to the state that hip hop culture is in today. Each one of us are more than willing to take a 'by any means necessary' approach at preserving it and doing whatever it takes to keep the culture true and pure, and to make sure that it maintains it's authenticity. It's almost as if we have no other choice other than to become these "Urban Terrorists" per say, that are on a mission to make sure that the culture we love and work so hard for is not corrupted, exploited and contaminated, as it seems that nobody else is going to take the initiative to step up and fight for the cause. So that's sort of the general concept behind the whole Just Plain Terror "movement". And whether you agree with it or not, the fact of the matter is that it's here to stay. People say there's a signature sound to
the music you play, can you describe that for us?

What is your opinion of the relationship
between Hip Hop and the internet?
The internet is definitely an essential tool when it comes to hip hop. Technology these days baffles me sometimes. I mean, without the internet we wouldn't have dope Hip Hop sites like superhappywax.com right? Then what would we do? Haha. But yeah, the relationship between Hip Hop and the internet is definitely an important one. It's amazing really. Not only does it allow you the opportunity to network with other artists and gain access to music from all over the globe, but it's also a great place to promote your own music and to get yourself heard by people across the world that might not ever hear about you otherwise. So yeah, the relationship between Hip Hop and the internet is a crucial one. Plus you can go on hiphop message boards and talk shit about people, and they can bag on you because you still live at your moms house, and then you can bag on them because their girlfriend looks like a 13 year old boy with Down Syndrome. Hahaha!
I hear you did the scratching
on the upcoming Greyskul (Onry Ozzborn and JFK) Project, how did that
come about?
Well, I've known Onry and JFK for some time now. They are super sick Emcees! I want to give a shout out to those guys, and to all of Oldominion for that matter. They're a super-group of talented individuals. And their definitely reppin' the Northwest. Anyway, I've done some work in the past with Sleep and Josh Martinez on their "Chicharones" album, and I think Onry and JFK heard it and liked what I did on it, so one day they called me up and were like "Hey, would you be down to come up to Seattle and lace our CD with some cuts"....and of course I was down! It was my pleasure. So that's how that happened. I went up and did the cuts for that album and it went really good. Me, Onry and JFK are all on some similar shit. We think a lot alike, we're into the same types of music and we share a lot of the same crazy ideas and what not, so it was a real fun project to get to work with them on. I'm super excited for them too because I hear that their new album is coming out on the Rhymesayers Entertainment Label, so that's definitely something to be proud of! Watch for that new Greyskul shit this summer! Tell us about the new mix CD "Got Milf?"
The "Got Milf? CD is sort of a dedication and a tribute to all the hot moms out there. It's a little something they can listen to in their minivans while their kids are screaming in the back seat on the way to soccer practice. It truly is a collection of guilty pleasures that you'll hate to love. It's all those songs that you're too embarassed to tell your friends that you listen to, but you know damn well that you when you're all by yourself, you're listening to'em on full blast! So that's basically what the CD is all about. It's a collection of songs ranging everywhere from 80's classics to 90's pop stuff. There's lots of corny stuff on there, lots of goofy stuff I tell ya. It's funny shit though. The whole project is comedy for sure. It's definately on the lighter side of things in comparison to what I'm typically known for, which is usually more on the dark and serious side of things. But with this project I wanted to totally come at it from a whole different angle and do something more upbeat and more silly....something fun ya know? Anyway, it's a full hour and twenty minutes of all these wacky songs, all blended, remixed, juggled and scratched in the fashion of a turntablist, so it still sort of has that flavor and feel of a hip hop mix cd, when in reality, there's not a whole lot of hip hop to this cd whatsoever. It's just a fun project, and if nothing else, it will give you a good laugh. Anyway, I'm tired of explaining it, so just go pick up a copy and check it out for yourself.... or if you're lucky like Belly at SuperHappyWax, I might just give you a copy for free! What's coming up in the near future for you? Any shout outs or fuck yous to be inserted here.
Click here to listen to DJ Wicked's Cut EducatorI have so many shout outs I could seriously go on for days and days, but I'm not gonna go there because I don't want to accidentally forget somebody and then have them try to slit my throat one night while I'm DJ'ing somewhere....although as fun as that sounds, I don't think I wanna go there... Haha. As far as the "Fuck yous" go, man, that list is probably twice as long as the shout out list!...haha Naw, seriously though, it's like this... If you're out there keeping it true, then much respect to you. But if you're out there fronting, faking the funk, and exploiting the Hip Hop culture, then yeah...Fuck You straight up! And trust me, there are a couple of you motherfuckers out there and we're watching you very closely, believe that! I don't even need to get into the details of naming names because it's no secret...these individuals know who they are and everybody else knows who they are too. And if any of those cats wanna have beef with me over it, then so be it. You can step up and get dealt with....trust me, I'm not a hard person to find. But again, as far as naming a list of people that probably deserve a nice big "Fuck You"... I'm not gonna do that, because well, quite honestly, I don't want to accidentally leave anyone off of that list either!
