Thanks alot for doing this, you are truly an artist who works with your fans.

  1. Take us to Ohio, in 2-3 sentences can you describe the Columbus hip hop
    scene??

The Cincinnati scene is small. The Columbus scene is the best. The Cleveland scene is growing.

  2. Now take us back to the young Blueprint days, What are a few of your
    earliest memories of hip hop?

Being in elementary school and singing along with "basketball" by curtis blow. Then seeing two kids have a beatbox battle in the hallway after recess.

  3. What can people expect from you and RJD2 on the Soul Position tour?
A lot of Vanilla Ice cover songs, and me to be very drunk most of the time...

  4. Can you describe working with RJD2 in two words.
    The Simpsons.

  5. Are there any shows that went horribly wrong you can tell us about?
Sure. I've got plenty of bad shows to talk about. The worst show I've recently been apart of was when i was on tour with Atmosphere last fall and we played Cincinnati. Since i was back home i had way more to drink than usual because all my people were there. During our set the records kept skipping and the speakers kept going out so everyone was getting frustrated. Everytime the record skipped Slug, Murs, and Dibbs kept blaming me because i was so drunk. The soundman jumped on stage during one of our songs to fix the monitors and made the record skip. I was so drunk that I didn't know it was him at first so i was like "what the fuck are you doing? You made the fucking record skip!" He was bent over trying to fix the monitors and then he told me to shut the fuck up or he'd make sure nobody heard me the rest of the night. I told him that i had been on the road for 3 months and i wasnt going to shut up. Then i told him to suck my big black dick and everybody in the spot heard me say it. It was fucked up, but funny as hell. Murs and Slug looked at me like i was crazy because i was actin wild every night on the tour but I had never did anything like that. Then when the set was over a bunch of fights broke out in the club. Mr. Dibbs girlfriend grabbed some girl who kept jumping on stage making the needle skip by her throat and threw her into the audience on her back. Murs almost got in a fight with some dude who was fucking with him. A bunch of dudes in Mr. Dibbs' crew were fighting inside and outside the club. It was a really fucked up night and i dont think anybody got laid...

  6. You've toured the country, what are two of your favorite tour stops and why?
In the midwest i'd say Minneapolis and Columbus because they both feel like home to me. Out west I'd say Albuquerque New Mexico, Portland, Seattle, or San Diego because the people get into it. There are some places that dont seem like they would be fun but are live like Iowa City or Missoula Montana. Vancouver and Toronto are both off the hook. I used to hate Chicago because bad shit always happens to me there but our last show there went really good and the people were supportive.

  7. What up and coming artists are you feeling right now?
I'm feeling Lord 360, One Man Army, Cj the Cynic, Vast, Brother Ali, Aesop Rock, MF Doom, Qwel, Jakki the Motormouth, Copywrite, Juelz Santana, DJ Przm, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch of other cats I listen to...

  8. In your opinion, how important is a website for an independant artist such
    as yourself?

It's pretty important in terms exchanging information. The faster and cheaper you can spread that information the better. Websites defintely help, but people have to have a reason to go to your website in the firstplace, and that always brings you back to the most important thing which is music. If people feel what you do then the website is another tool to help you get out there, but if they dont like your music they wont go to your site.

  9. Being a producer, and also a busy artist, how often, and how important is
digging for you and do you dig while on the road?

Right now I probably only go digging once every two or three months. The problem i have now is that i was digging more regularly picking up 20-50 records everytime i went out and i wasn't listening to the records because i was touring and not doing beats that much. So now I've got about 300-400 records in my room that i haven't even listened to, and that doesnt help when it's time to do beats because you don't know what you have and it slows the beatmaking process down.

I don't really like to dig on the road because space is so limited that you can't really afford to keep a bunch of records on you. I'll dig if i have a day off and i can mail the records home, but those instances are rare.

  10. How's weightless looking in 2004?
Good. If all goes well the new Illogic "Celestial Clockwork" record in January, and I'll be putting out a solo record in March. Those are our top two priorities, starting 2004 out strong.

  11. Anyone you want to work with that you haven't yet?
I-Self from the Micranots. MF Doom. Vordul from Cannibal Ox.

  12. Anyone you want to shout out?
Weightless. Rhymesayers. Columbus, Ohio and Cincinnati, Oh...thanks for the support.
